SLAY YOUR FEARS IN 2018
Why is this so important? Because fear
is a natural hindrance to greatness. Wherever fear is lurking, we tend to
digress. We procrastinate, we delay and most often quit and give up. We never write
that book, start that business, change that career, go back to school or whatever
the situation maybe for us. Instead, we settle for less than and never fully
tap into our potential and the greatness that’s on the inside of us. Make 2018
the year not to settle anymore. Instead, face your fears and discover what
great things lies beyond fear.
So, how do you face your fears? Number
one, you must do it afraid. Whatever task you have before you that’s making you
afraid, you must face it. Even if you are shaking in your boots. Keep shaking
and do it anyway. The more you do this, the stronger you become over that situation.
I remember doing this very thing. Situations that I would run away from because
I was so fearful, I finally had to make the decision that there was no other way but to
face them even though I felt so afraid. The more I did this, overtime I gain
strength over the situation. Oftentimes, the feelings of fear, anxiety or
nervousness never go away initially but the more you do what you need to do in spite
of the fear, the more control you have over those feelings. Actually, in my
experience those feelings went away because I didn’t think the same way I use
to anymore. Your thinking and your emotions are connected. Your thoughts fuel
how you feel. If you really want to change your feelings, you must first change
your thinking. Thoughts are the root and they influence how you feel. So, your
thought life has everything to do with your emotions and how you feel. As I
changed my thought process, my emotional and mental state became more stable
and peaceful regardless of my outward circumstances and the same will happen
for you.
So, how do you slay your fears? In
addition to taking action by facing things head-on that you’re afraid of,
you must change your mindset. The main core of us are our thoughts and belief
systems. When we change those core things, our behavior will overtime change as
well. To really change your behaviors of fear or anything else, you must first
reprogram your thinking and belief system. Everything else stems from that. The
internal programming must be change to permanently change our behavior and what
we do. Go to the root, which are our thought processes and belief systems to have
permanent change. Changing your mindset
really does change your life. Develop new thinking about the things you are
afraid of and your actions will follow as well. Fear is really just a matter of
how you think and what you believe. Change those thoughts and belief systems on the inside of you and fear won’t be fear anymore.
